Bones for a play house

Posted by WonderWoman in : Kids stuff , trackback
I think I could make the fabric “shell” for a house in which my toddler can play… but am stumped by where I might get the “bones”; the frame, if you like. Anyone know?

You could use plastic tubing and connectors (like plumbers use), though I don’t know how expensive it would be ?

What about those bendy foam things that healthy people use to do that exercise thing I don’t understand? Pool noodles, is that what they’re called? Do they bend into the shape you want?

I’m pretty sure you can get PVC pipe from Bunnings or Mitre10…

Good luck :)

My husband is a plumber and we made one for our boys a few years ago. It was very light so the kids could move it around easily.Pipes were a little on the big side as its hard to get thin pipes.Fabric shell wore out before the pipes!Couldn’t work out how to have a traingle roof as we only had right angle connectors so our cubby was rectangle (a barn)
We also made one using replacement poles from Rays tent city. The poles that have elastic running thru them and they can be folded or collapsed to pack away.Just sewed a hem and thread the poels thru.
Hope you know what I am talking about
