On yer bike … but your scooter’ll do
Posted by WonderWoman in : My life , trackbackWhat is the right (kid) age to learn to ride a bike? WonderBoy is 6 - have we left it too late? Well, I guess it could be a topic for him, when in psychotherapy to decades from now…
He has a scooter; actually, he’s on to his second scooter. Just so easy. I wonder though whether we have left a gap in his general education by neglecting bike skills.

There is no RIGHT age , all kids are different … some kids start early , reallly early , others later …
its all about balance , if his balance on the scooter is good , he should do fine on the bike now..
He’ll get it no worries. My boy us five and has been riding for a couple of years but I reckon we might have started him too early. He came a cropper and had a heavy fall not long after he’d got the hang of hammering down the hill outside our house. Damage his confidence more than his body. 18 months on and he won’t let us take the training wheels off.
Maybe My boy and Wonderboy can split the psychiatric bills.
