Moving on … to pizza
Posted by WonderWoman in : Eat & Drink , trackbackFish and chips is getting a little tired I reckon. How about Pizza on the north side of town? I like Frankie’s (Ascot Vale) but Carosello’s (Essendon) is good too. Of course Meine Liebe (spelling? Northcote) is special.
I’ve actually never been to a La Porchetta restaurant - are they pretty good? Any other perfect pizza offerings, you think?

My three-year-old niece would beg to differ about fish’n'chips being tired. She LOVES chips. We had roast chicken and chips Sunday night with the extended family. We hid the chips until the end of the meal so they’d eat the chicken and peas first. When the chips were brought out there were shouts of delight and big smiles!
But you want to know about pizza. We ordered takeaway pizza from I Saluti in Northcote the night of the soccer grand final. It was stinking hot . Too hot to cook, too hot to move, so remembered they now deliver and it was delicious! We had the hot salami combo with goat’s cheese on a crispy, thin crust. I was in heaven. Now if they could also deliver some cold beer as well…
I carusi of course!
Thanks maggie. Any pizza with goat’s cheese gets my vote.
Mojo’s Weird Pizza, baby, at Clifton Hill (Queens Pde) and Richmond (Bridge Rd). They do not one but eight vegetarian pizzas and as the name suggests, a range of truly bizarre combinations, like nachos (on a pizza?) and chocolate dessert pizza. Check it out!
There’s a little more info about Mojo’s Weird Pizza here:

THanks cacphony: are u vegetarian?
I Saluti in High Street Northcote. Not a pizza restaurant but their woodfired pizza are so gourmet. Their pastas are divine, spaghetti with chorizzo sausage a must. Sounds ordinary but the tomato based sauce was flavoursome, perhaps taking on the some sausage flavourings. I really reccomend I Saluti
