Posted by WonderWoman in : My life , 2 commentsThe world has gone mad over privacy, I know.
And I find myself in the unfortunate situation of having it discussed within the four walls of our humble WonderHome!
A scene from My Life, about a month before Christmas last year:
WonderWoman is having a shower. WonderGirl (aged 2) barges into the bathroom with a flourish, then takes a seat and settles in.
She thinks.
She smiles.
She speaks:
“I’m having pry-cy with you Mummy.”
Sharing privacy, now there’s a concept.

I wish I had tact, which I don’t even think counts as a talent.
Slugs, snails and headlice
Posted by WonderWoman in : Kids stuff , add a commentWonderGirl was intently inspecting WonderBoy’s head as WonderWoman (that’d be me) combed WB’s hair with a headlice comb, searching for recalcitrant lice (head had been treated earlier for the infestation).
WG (aged 2): “Whatchoo doing Mummy?”
WW: “Combing WB’s hair.”
WG: “Why?”
WW: “He has bugs in his hair.”
WG: “He has bugs in his hair?”
WW: “Yes.”
WG: Pauses. Then smiles. He got bugs in his hair; I got snails in MY hair.
Which school? Enculturate me!
Posted by WonderWoman in : My life , add a commentEver been asked - in a job interview in particular - “which school did you go to?”? I am not a native of Melbourne, or Victoria for that matter, and so am negotiating my way through the Melbourne middle-class ideas on schools.
WonderBoy and WonderGirl have to be educated somewhere!
I am wondering: are employers here at all interested in what school you went to?
(I went to a shocker, in Qld, but it didn’t stop me doing what I aimed to do post-school).
Are the private school networks invaluable? Of any value?
Pls enculturate me!

Posted by WonderWoman in : Shopping , add a commentWonderLove is renovating the garden; ripping up the lawn and replacing it with a Japanese-style garden (lots of rocks) with native Aussie influences.
However, finding a Japanese-style lantern (not Thai, Chinese or Balinese) for the project has proved troublesome.
Would love a tip on where to buy such an item - for less than $2000. Less than $200 would be even better.
