God in Queen’s Park
Posted by WonderWoman in : Where I Live , trackbackStinking hot Sunday morphed into sublime Sunday just in time for community carols at Moonee Ponds’ Queens Park at the weekend.
They did have to proceed minus the naked flame candles because of the total fire ban BUT that did not curb the Good Spirit.
This year’s set-up was fantastic. An animal nursery was adjacent to the stage (and the animals didn’t even complain when the community singing was out of tune), pefect for the live nativity performance.
The nativity scene was played out primarily by the children of the Ascot Vale Uniting Church. There was even a live baby in the “manger”! Carols were then interspersed with the nativity play - it really helped give the carols meaning.
The performance was hugely popular with kids in the audience (as well as the proud kid actors of course). Touch of class and warm fuzzies. I recommend it.

Sounds like you got incredibly lucky with the timing of the change in weather. A little Christmas miracle perhaps?
